Infection DrugsInfections are the most eminent cause of diseases that kill innumerable people worldwide. Infection is the development of a parasitic organism or a germ with in the human body. Infections occur when one touches, eats or breathes anything which comprises a germ. Germs are small living things which are found present in air, water and soil. After getting chance to enter the human body, these germs start its multiplication. While some germs help human body to perform well, others can give birth to a number of diseases. Types of infections Bacterial infections- Bacterial infections occur due
to the presence and growth of microorganisms that harm the host tissue.
These microorganisms have only one cell. Most bacteria are helpful. They
assist in the digestion of food and provide required vitamins to the body.
On the contrary, infected bacteria make people ill and release harmful
toxins. Inflammation, swelling, pain and redness are some of the common
symptoms of a bacterial infection. Viral infections- Viruses are tiny particles which cause moderate to severe infections. They act like hijackers. Viruses attack living cells and then utilize those normal cells for own multiplication. This, in turn, results in the extermination of healthy cells and consequently makes people sick. Viral infection prevention and treatment- Viral infections are comparatively hard to cure as viruses exist within the human body's cells. There are very few anti-viral or viral infection treatment drugs available in the market. Antibiotic infection treatment drugs also do not act against these infections. As far as the vaccines are concerned, they can only protect people from viral infections. Fungal infections- A fungus is essentially a primal vegetable. Fungi are found in air, soil, in water and on plants. Although only half of all sorts of fungi are harmful, they can lead to a serious fungal infection when one's immune system is weak or one is taking antibiotics. Athlete's foot, Jock itch, and Tinea are some notable examples of fungal infections. Fungal infection prevention- In case of nail and skin infections, one can apply anti-fungal medicines directly on the infected area. Besides, oral anti-fungal preparations are also manufactured for the prevention of severe fungal infections. Protozoal infections- Protozoa are microorganisms which have only one cell and use other living things for food. They are bigger in the shape when compared to bacteria. Two sorts of protozoan parasites are known to cause infections in animals. They are giardia and coccidian. Protozoal infection prevention and treatment- No vaccines are available for the treatment of protozoal or parasitic infections. There are few infection treatment drugs available for parasitic infections. |
