Two types of vaccines are available for the prevention of flu disease. They are flu shot and nasal-spray flu vaccine. While flu shot is an inactivated vaccine approved for use in people who are above six months, the nasal-spray flu vaccine contains live, destabilized flu viruses and is permitted for use in healthy people between 5 to 49 years of age. And October and December are the most apposite months to get vaccinated. Anti-flu drugs- In addition, premium anti-flu drugs like amantadine, rimantadine, oseltamivir and zanamavir, are also credible means to fend off influenza infection. But these flu treatment drugs must be taken within two days of the onset of flu symptoms. When utilized as recommended by the physician, anti-flu drugs remarkably alleviate influenza symptoms and make people less contagious. They are usually prescribed for three to five consecutive days.
